Quick Update....

Just a quick update…. I’m happy to announce that my Harlequin editor and I have finished edits on His Rebel Heart, Adrian’s story! I haven’t yet seen a cover, but I’m hoping to before my Superromance debut’s birthday next month. Fingers crossed! The book is due on shelves in July 2015 – but you can go ahead and put it on your To-Read list on Goodreads. To see the new inspiration board for the book on Pinterest, click here….

Also, to those of you who are waiting for prize packages from last month’s Valentine’s Day Book Bundle Giveaway, your bundles should be in the mail soon. I’m currently waiting for shipping boxes after a couple of weeks off due to cold and flu season finally hitting our house. I'll post a note here when they do ship so you can be on the look-out....

Tune in tomorrow for Throwback Thursday Book Club! Friday, I’ll be blogging at Roses of Prose!

Blog Hoppin'....

Just a quick note on my whereabouts on this busy Friday! Today I’m in two places at once. First, I’m at the official blog of the Harlequin Superromance imprint, Super Authors, talking about wild and crazy cooking disasters and how they’re influencing my next novel....

Second, I’m having a grand ol’ time at my monthly stop by Roses of Prose. This one’s really special – I’m revealing a “slice of life” from some characters who might be familiar to you. It’s Cole and Briar’s wedding day (from A Place With Briar). Come by for a peek at the festivities and read up on this “after-HEA” snippet….

Oh, and sneak back to The Cozy Page on Sunday for that Mardi Gras recap (if the weather holds for the parades; here’s hoping!) and details on my first book bundle giveaway of the year!

MARRIED ONE NIGHT Book Tour & Reviews....

I’m officially on tour! My virtual book tour, that is, for my latest Harlequin Superromance novel, Married One Night. I must thank Pump Up Your Book, bloggers, readers, and reviewers who have made the launch of Married One Night such a positive experience. Also a huge thank you to those who have spread the word about Married One Night. If you see the book on shelves while you’re out and about throughout the month, send me a picture via my CONTACT address and I’ll post it here on my blog plus Facebook and Twitter with a special "thank you" message….

Since we’re midway through the tour, here's a recap of excerpts and reviews as well as guest posts and interviews.

Guest Posts & Interviews….

The irrepressible heroine of Married One Night, Olivia Lewis, had the privilege of being interviewed by The Literary Nook. See what she had to say about the hero, Gerald, and her thoughts on her role in follow-up books.

I was interviewed by The Writer’s Life eMagazine. Find out what my advice is to new writers as well as what message I hope to get across most to those who read my books.

Excerpts….

My monthly post at Roses of Prose included the first excerpt from Married One Night. Also I explain why my characters can’t “Keep Calm…” though they do indeed “…Carry On.”

My monthly post at the Super Authors blog included a fun, exclusive excerpt featuring Olivia and Gerald as well as what it was like writing the British hero and researching British slang.

There have been several first chapter reveals. You can read the first chapter of the book at any of the following sites: What Is That Book About, Authors & Readers Book Corner, Bookingly Yours, My Life: One Story at the Time.

Book Reviews….

Reviewer Cassie of Southeast by Midwest has given Married One Night 4.5 Stars! Here’s a bit of what she had to say about the book:

“This was a really enjoyable romance novel, much more so than I would have thought. The characters were all really well written and I was rooting for Gerald all the way through. The writing in this really makes me want to go and find Amber Leigh Williams other works and read those as well!”

Reviewer Brenda of Crazy Four Books has given Married One Night a lovely review! Here’s a bit of what she had to say about it:

This book was sexy, sweet and surprising. I was drawn in from the beginning and it only got better as the pages went on. I laughed, cried, sighed, and yes, I got angry once or twice too. There is something to be said about books and authors that evoke such a mixture of feelings. If you like your romance with interesting characters, a decent amount of pages, a pace that is just right, and a plot that will keep you reading and not wanting to quit, you'll want to get this one! I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. It was just wonderful.”

Reviewer Gayle of Books, Reviews, Etc. has given Married One Night 4 Stars! Here’s a bit of what she had to say about the book:

This book was quite humorous.  It's not your ordinary book about Earls and Dukes and their romantic escapades. The author put the humor in it and that totally changed the book.  It's nice to occasionally have a romance where the couple is already married but trying to woo each other.  Good read!”

Reviewer Becky of Becky on Books has given Married One Night 3.5 Stars! Here’s a bit of what she had to say about the book:

“Gerald is an easy hero to like. He’s a bestselling author, and he’s got a delicious British accent (at least it was delicious in my head) and uses some charming English colloquialisms, many I’d never heard before and several that led to some really adorable misunderstandings with Olivia. The ending involves our hero in a kilt. So–win-win.”

A reviewer for Romance for Every World has given Married One Night 4.5 Stars! Here’s a bit of what the website had to say about the book:

“I have to say that I absolutely loved this book. It was one of those books that has such a cute story that you just have to keep reading. I felt like I lived vicariously through the heroine, Olivia Lewis. It is such and heart-warming story that leaves you feeling just plain happy at the end. The hero, Gerald Leighton is the perfect hero—handsome, charming, an English accent and a strong desire to win over his bride's heart. This is a quick read and is the definition of a 'super romance'. ….Great characters and a super cute story.”

That wraps up the virtual book tour so far! I’ll be posting more reviews and guest posts as we go along. If you’d like to keep up day-to-day with tour events, visit Pump Up Your Book. Visit Married One Night's Goodreads page if you'd like to join the book discussion and read more reviews.

MARRIED ONE NIGHT Available Now....

I’m thrilled to announce that today my new Harlequin Superromance novel, Married One Night, hits bookstore shelves!

What happened in Vegas…followed her home!

Olivia Lewis is not the marrying type. So when a wild weekend in Vegas leaves her with a surprise husband, she’s happy to sign anything to erase her mistake—even if that mistake is handsome, charming and comes with an English accent. Fortunately, her groom has other plans.

Bestselling author Gerald Leighton knows he can make his new bride fall in love with him—he just needs time. In exchange for a quickie divorce, Olivia grudgingly gives him a few weeks to attempt to woo her. And whether Olivia likes it or not, Gerald plans on using every second to win her heart!

There’s a special release day book blitz going on today, thanks to Pump Up Your Book. If you happen across one of the following banners on the web today or tomorrow, you’ll be able to enter a giveaway for a $25 Amazon Gift Card. The winner will be drawn on October 3rd and announced here, on Twitter, Facebook, and my website HOME page. (Hint: To find the banner, follow @PumpUpYourBook on Twitter and be on the lookout for Married One Night Book Blitz tweets throughout the day!)

And speaking of reviews, a huge thank you to RT Book Reviews who have awarded Married One Night with 4.5 Stars!

A special shout-out also must go out to Graphics by Sharlene who designed these gorgeous book graphics for Olivia and Gerald’s book and my special book launch Twitter banner….

MARRIED ONE NIGHT First Look....

Last Friday, I had the privilege of blogging at SuperAuthors for the first time as a new member of the Superromance group blog. I took that opportunity to debut the gorgeous cover art of my second Harlequin Superromance novel, Married One Night (October 2014). And here for you now, Cozies, is your first look at the cover and blurb….

I had a lot of fun writing this one. Though it stands alone as a novel, it features one of the colorful secondary characters from my April Superromance, A Place With Briar. Olivia was a departure for me as a heroine. It’s always interesting, as an introvert, to step into the shoes as someone who is as extroverted as this heroine. But the fun really kicked in when I introduced her to her British hero, Gerald Leighton, who was inspired in large part by none other than the lovely and charming English actor, Tom Hiddleston. You can see more about how I was inspired by Tom, his sword-fighting skills, and his ability to wear to a tailored suit to purrrfection on my Pinterest board for Married One Night!

Stay tuned for my September newsletter, which will include details about my virtual book tour for Married One Night as well as a very special Goodreads giveaway! (If you haven’t yet subscribed to my mailing list, find the link to do so on the right sidebar….) Also stay tuned for excerpts and more exciting behind-the-scenes extras involving Married One Night!

Only 2 days left before A Place With Briar launches in stores and online! Haven’t reserved your copy yet? That’s all right. Just hop on over to one of the online retailers following this second excerpt from the book….

“There’s something you need to know….”

Cole’s lips curved as he turned back to the bike. “I know.”

“You do?” Briar asked, sounding astounded.

“You’ve never ridden a bike before.”

“Is it that obvious?” she asked, rubbing her palms on her jeans.

“A little,” he said wryly. “Just lean with me into the turns. And hold on.”

Hell, if he didn’t coax her on now, she’d probably run for her life. And while that might have been better for the both of them under the circumstances, he found himself jerking his thumb behind him, motioning for her to get on.

After a brief pause, Briar dropped down her visor and stepped to the bike.

Gripping his offered hand for balance, she climbed on behind him and placed her feet on the small passenger pegs.
Just this once, he was going to give Briar Browning the ride of her life. God help them both.

I have just booked a Facebook chat at the Coffee Time Romance Mocha Milieu Event Room for Saturday, April 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST. I’m planning to give away a special prize to a lucky reader so mark your calendars!

Today begins a 3-Day Excerpt Extravaganza. I’ll be reposting one of the three excerpts from A Place With Briar each day until our April 1st launch party - in case you missed any of the teasers revealed throughout February and March here at home, on Twitter, or at Roses of Prose. The first is the live-tweeted excerpt from Valentine’s Day. Happy reading!

Cole paused, tucked one hand under Briar’s knees and scooped her into his arms. “Put your head on my shoulder.”

Briar turned her face into his neck. The touch of her skin against his stirred something warm and hungry in his blood.

Not hungry by Clint’s definition. Cole wanted to guard her, protect her from the seedy reality of the world. Her scent filtered through him just as the fragrance of her flowers penetrated the tepid night air. When she wrapped her arms close around his neck, he realized he had her full trust.

The knowledge was potent.

He mounted the stairs to the third level where he knew her private rooms were. Stepping into the living room lit by a single lamp, the smell of lavender struck him. He toted her past the small kitchen on the right and into the first bedroom. Its pale green drapes were closed tight over the windows. The mauve spread was turned down in invitation.

He set her on the edge and went to his knees to tug off her shoes. “Lay back,” he advised.

She lowered to the pillows, curling onto her side to face him. He pressed the cloth to the back of her head. “How do you feel?”

“Mmm,” she moaned distantly, her eyes closing. “Sleepy.”

“Don’t fall asleep yet. I need you to tell me if you blacked out at all.”

“I don’t think so.”

He stroked a hand over her hair. “Do you have any Advil? Ibuprofen?”

“In the bathroom cupboard.”

He returned with two pills and a glass of water. “Take these.” Relieved to see color filtering back into her cheeks, he said, “You already look better.”

She gazed at him as he ran the cold rag over her cheeks and brow. “Liv’s right. You’re a nice guy.”

He didn’t feel particularly nice. Protective. A bit shaken. But with hunger gnawing at his vital hold on control, nice wasn’t the word for what he felt.

“What you did to Clint…” She trailed off and swallowed hard. “No one’s ever done anything like that for me.”

“Assault is something I don’t tolerate,” he groaned. “No one should.”

“It was only a kiss he wanted. He was drunk and things just…escalated.”

Cole had seen the greed in Clint’s eyes, the way they’d skimmed her torso, the way they lit up when he touched her skin. Fury slunk into Cole and he worked carefully for a moment to contain it. Cole had seen his like too many times to count. The man had wanted more.

“He won’t touch me again. Not after you scared him like that.” Grinning, she added, “It was sort of funny hearing him scream like a girl.”

Relieved to see her smile, he stroked her cheek and watched her eyes flutter closed. Pulling his hand away as if burned, he cleared his throat. “No, he won’t touch you again. Not as long as I’m around.”

The smile melted from her face and the light in her eyes faded. He knew she was thinking about his check-out date. She cleared her throat and changed the subject, careful not to look at him. “Adrian said you used to be a detective.”

“Yeah,” he said, his voice surprisingly rusty.

“You’d make a good cop.”

Cole dropped the rag from her head, set it aside. “I don’t think you have a concussion.”

She sighed in obvious relief. “Good. I don’t think I could’ve handled the hospital tonight.”

“Still, expect to wake up with a rough headache in the morning. Think you can sleep?”

“Maybe.”

He pulled the spread up and over her, tucking it around her shoulders, and switched off the light. “Good night.”

“Cole.”

As he glanced back, Briar looked too pale in the shadows. Too vulnerable.

“I’d feel better if you stayed a bit.”

Cozy Countdown for A PLACE WITH BRIAR: 6 Days....

Only 6 days left in the Cozy Countdown to the book launch for Harlequin Superromance, A Place With Briar! Wow, April’s comin’ on quick!

A couple of weeks ago, the hub came home from work and announced, “Did you know there’s a large box labeled HARLEQUIN on the front porch?” I then watched him lug said box inside. My heart began to dance a little. I had indeed heard the UPS man drive up and knock but hadn’t been able to answer and then promptly forgot about it. Horrified I had let my long-awaited box from my publisher sit outside all afternoon, I dove at it, ripping it open without further ado…. In hindsight, I wish I hadn’t torn the box. It would have been a nice keepsake. Alas, the lid tore under my eager hands. But the shiny, new contents greeted me completely untouched! I’ll let you see for yourself what was inside….

And it was love at first sight….

Soooo…who would like an exclusive sneak peek into the paperback edition of A Place With Briar? Here ya go, Cozies – just for you: the first page of Briar and Cole’s story….
